Alessandro Romano is set to take the next step in his move from Roma to Cagliari, with his medical examinations scheduled for 10:30 a.m. today at Villa Stuart.
According to Filippo Biafora, the deal has been structured as an initial loan with an obligation to buy under conditions that are considered certain to be met. Thanks to UEFA accounting rules, the transfer will allow Roma to register the capital gain before the June 30 financial deadline.
The operation represents an important boost for the Giallorossi as they continue working to comply with their Settlement Agreement obligations without sacrificing key first-team players.
Biafora also reports that Sassuolo made a last-minute attempt to hijack the move, but the Neroverdi were unable to change Romano’s destination, with the midfielder remaining committed to joining Cagliari.
