With the summer transfer window now officially open, Roma continue to explore options to strengthen several areas of Gian Piero Gasperini’s squad, including the right flank.
One of the players on the Giallorossi’s radar is Costantino Favasuli, the promising 2004-born full-back who impressed with Catanzaro last season and recently earned his first call-up to the Italian national team for friendlies against Liechtenstein and Greece.
However, Roma are not alone in the race. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Cagliari have entered negotiations for the young defender as they look to reinforce the right-back position following the departure of Palestra, who spent last season on loan at the Sardinian club.
Favasuli is viewed as an attractive option thanks to his potential, versatility and affordable price tag, making him one of the more intriguing young full-backs available on the Italian market.
Roma continue to monitor the situation closely, but they could now face growing competition if Cagliari accelerate their pursuit in the coming days.
