With the June 30 financial deadline now behind them, Roma are turning their full attention to strengthening Gian Piero Gasperini’s squad ahead of the new season.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, the Giallorossi have made concrete enquiries for Sebastiano Esposito, who is emerging as another attacking option under consideration this summer.
The report stresses that Esposito’s arrival would not affect Roma’s pursuit of other attacking reinforcements. Instead, the Italian forward is viewed as a player capable of adding depth to the squad and could become a realistic target if Artem Dovbyk leaves the club permanently during the transfer window.
Signing Esposito, however, will not come cheaply. Cagliari are reportedly demanding between €20 million and €25 million for the striker after securing him on a permanent deal from Inter. The valuation is influenced by a clause that entitles the Nerazzurri to 40 percent of any future transfer fee, increasing Cagliari’s asking price.
Roma are expected to continue evaluating the opportunity while remaining aware of the competition. Como have also shown interest in Esposito in recent weeks, meaning the race for the Italian forward could intensify as the summer window progresses.
