Roma Duo Nardin and Arena Feature as Italy Held by Croatia at U19 Euros

Italy were held to a goalless draw by Croatia in their second match of the UEFA Under-19 European Championship after opening the tournament with a 2-0 victory over Serbia.

The result leaves Alberto Bollini’s side on four points, with qualification for the knockout stage set to be decided in the final group match against Ukraine.

Roma youngsters Federico Nardin and Antonio Arena both featured for the Azzurrini. Nardin once again started the match, lining up at right-back before later shifting into central defence, while Arena came off the bench in the 83rd minute in an attempt to help Italy find a winner.

Nardin was among Italy’s standout performers and nearly registered an assist early in the second half when he delivered an excellent cross for Mosconi, whose effort drifted wide of the target.

Italy currently sit top of the group ahead of their decisive clash with Ukraine, where a place in the knockout rounds will be on the line.
