Gianluca Mancini’s long-awaited contract renewal has yet to be finalized, despite expectations that an agreement was close.
According to reports, the Roma defender, whose current deal expires in 2027, had expected the renewal to be completed sooner. However, the negotiations have yet to produce the anticipated breakthrough.
The delay is not believed to stem from a breakdown in talks, but rather from Roma’s recent priorities. The club has spent the past few weeks focused on meeting financial targets through capital gains and resolving the futures of players with contracts nearing expiration.
Meanwhile, Inter have recently renewed their interest in Mancini. Despite the enquiry, the report adds that the Italian centre-back remains untouchable in the eyes of Gian Piero Gasperini, who considers him a key part of his project for the upcoming season.
With Roma now shifting their attention back to contract renewals, Mancini’s extension is expected to return to the top of the club’s agenda.
