Roma’s reported interest in Alejandro Garnacho has become one of the latest talking points of the summer transfer window, but leading transfer insiders are offering contrasting updates on the situation.
According to Alfredo Pedullà, Roma have already made an exploratory enquiry for the Argentine winger. The Giallorossi are said to be strong admirers of Garnacho’s profile and are willing to consider either a loan or permanent transfer, depending on Chelsea’s plans. Pedullà also stresses that Garnacho is viewed as an option for the left wing, meaning his potential arrival would be separate from Roma’s pursuit of other attacking targets.
However, Fabrizio Romano has painted a different picture. Romano reports that Garnacho’s representatives have not received any offers from Italian clubs so far. He adds that Chelsea have yet to communicate their plans to the player, who is waiting to begin pre-season under Xabi Alonso before a final decision is made on his future. While Romano confirms there is an openness to Garnacho leaving, he suggests the process has not yet progressed to the stage of formal approaches.
