Artem Dovbyk’s potential move to Genoa is becoming increasingly concrete.
The Ukrainian striker is expected to leave Roma this summer, and in recent hours Genoa have taken more decisive steps to bring him to Liguria. The key development is not only the interest from the Rossoblu, but also the player’s position: Dovbyk is reportedly beginning to warm to the idea of joining Genoa.
Roma had initially hoped for a transfer capable of generating significant immediate revenue, but the club have now opened the door to a possible loan deal. That formula could allow Genoa to enter the race more seriously, easing the financial burden of a permanent operation.
Dovbyk is a specific request from Daniele De Rossi, who already wanted him at Roma in the summer of 2024 and continues to rate him highly. The Genoa coach sees the striker as an ideal profile to strengthen his attack ahead of the new season.
The player’s openness could prove decisive. After initially evaluating his options, Dovbyk is now reportedly becoming convinced by the Rossoblu project — an important signal for a deal that will depend heavily on his final approval.
For Roma, his departure would also create room to move for a new attacking profile, with the club continuing to reshape the forward line under Gian Piero Gasperini.
