VoceGiallorossa: Roma Hold First Meeting Over Lorenzo Pellegrini Renewal

Roma have taken the first step toward resolving Lorenzo Pellegrini’s future.

The midfielder’s contract officially expired on June 30, meaning that, as of July 1, he is no longer formally tied to the club. Even so, Pellegrini’s position remains clear: he wants to continue his career with Roma, the club he has represented for most of his life aside from two seasons at Sassuolo.

According to VoceGiallorossa, an initial meeting has taken place between new sporting director Tony D’Amico and Pellegrini’s agent. The discussion was preliminary, but it marked the first direct step toward a possible renewal.

Further talks are expected in the coming days, when the parties will go deeper into the terms of a new deal and try to reduce the distance between Roma’s offer and the player’s demands.

Despite entering last season with an expiring contract, Pellegrini still played a meaningful role for the Giallorossi. The Roma captain made 33 appearances in all competitions, scoring seven goals, including the decisive strike in the derby first leg — a goal that gave Roma their first away derby win in nine years.

For now, the renewal remains open. But the first contact between D’Amico and Pellegrini’s camp confirms that Roma are ready to seriously explore a new agreement for their No. 7.
