Wesley Nears Roma Return Ahead of Gasperini’s First Summer Training Camp

Roma have received a timely boost ahead of the start of pre-season, with Wesley now close to returning from injury.

The Brazilian full-back is expected to be present when Gian Piero Gasperini’s squad begins summer training on July 13 at the Fulvio Bernardini Sports Center.

Wesley was forced to miss the World Cup due to a muscle injury, but his recovery is progressing positively.

According to Adnkronos, the player’s rehabilitation is moving within the expected timeframe, with Roma’s medical staff satisfied by his progress in recent weeks.

Wesley has been following a personalized recovery program and will be gradually reintegrated into the group during pre-season. The plan is for him to train initially with the players not involved in international duty before steadily increasing his workload.

Barring setbacks, Roma expect Wesley to be ready for the start of the new campaign. His return could be important for Gasperini, who will use the summer training camp to begin shaping his tactical ideas and evaluate the squad ahead of the season.
