Genoa are exploring the possibility of a move for Artem Dovbyk as they look to reshape their attack.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Rossoblu have set their sights on the Roma striker following the departures of Caleb Ekuban and Ekhator. The idea is appealing, but the deal remains complicated from a financial perspective.
The biggest obstacle is Dovbyk’s salary, which exceeds €3 million and is currently outside Genoa’s usual parameters.
One factor that could work in Genoa’s favor is the relationship between Dovbyk and Daniele De Rossi. The Rossoblu coach holds the Ukrainian forward in high regard and could play an important role if the club decide to seriously pursue the deal.
Roma have reportedly shown some openness to a loan, but the financial structure would need to be carefully worked out before negotiations can advance.
For now, Genoa’s interest remains more of an idea than a concrete operation. Still, Dovbyk’s future remains one to watch as Roma continue to evaluate their attacking options ahead of the new season.
