Lazio Region President Francesco Rocca has outlined two key issues that must be addressed in relation to Roma’s proposed new stadium in Pietralata.
Speaking during a press conference at Pertini Hospital, Rocca said the first priority concerns noise levels, stressing that the nearby hospital and residential areas must be fully protected.
“Acoustics are not negotiable,” Rocca said. “The hospital and nearby homes must be protected, and the stadium’s acoustics must never interfere with the quiet of a hospital. We need guarantees through the design that this will be certain.”
The second issue raised by Rocca concerns traffic management. He warned that matchday congestion and parking problems cannot be allowed to impact Pertini Hospital, particularly emergency routes and access for visitors.
“If the area is not well served, any problems cannot be shifted onto Pertini,” he added. “Emergency routes, patient visits and residents’ mobility must all be absolutely guaranteed, even on days when the stadium is in use.”
Roma’s Pietralata stadium project continues to move through the administrative process, but Rocca’s comments underline the need for clear answers on infrastructure, access and public safety before final approval.
