Matias Soulé’s future at Roma remains uncertain as the Giallorossi continue to evaluate their attacking plans under Gian Piero Gasperini.
The Roma coach continues to dream of adding another forward to his attack, and if one were to arrive in the capital, Soulé’s space in the squad could be reduced.
For that reason, the Argentine winger may still leave Trigoria during this transfer window.
Roma are no longer under the same pressure to sell quickly for financial reasons, meaning the club can now dictate its own terms for any major outgoing move. So far, Soulé has attracted interest from Germany and Saudi Arabia, but no club has made a concrete push.
According to Tele Radio Stereo, Sunderland have shown interest in the 2003-born winger in recent hours. The English club, led by former Roma director Florent Ghisolfi, have made exploratory enquiries to understand the conditions of a possible deal.
For now, Sunderland have only requested information and have not gone beyond that stage. Roma’s asking price for Soulé is believed to be just over €35 million.
Soulé joined Roma on July 30, 2024, for around €30 million, but two years later his future in the capital could depend on how the Giallorossi reshape their attack.
