Roma’s pre-season preparations are now just days away, with the squad set to gather at the Fulvio Bernardini Sports Center in Trigoria next week.
There will be some absences due to World Cup commitments, but most of Gian Piero Gasperini’s group is expected to be available from the start of the summer retreat.
Among them will be Wesley, who was forced to miss the World Cup with Brazil after suffering an injury just minutes into the Seleção’s final friendly against Egypt before the tournament.
After overcoming the disappointment, the former Flamengo full-back is now focused on being ready for the new season. Wesley posted a photo on his Instagram stories showing himself training on an exercise bike inside the Trigoria gym.
The right-back is working to regain full fitness and remains one of the players Gasperini considers central to his Roma project. His recovery will be closely followed as the Giallorossi begin their first preparations under the new coach.
