According to Il Messaggero, one of the coach’s requests is a left-sided centre-back who can provide cover and rotation for Mario Hermoso during the season.
The preferred profile is an experienced defender rather than a young player who would need time to develop. Roma want someone ready to contribute immediately, unlike the type of project represented by Jan Ziolkowski last year.
The Giallorossi are now evaluating options as Tony D’Amico continues to shape the squad around Gasperini’s needs.
