Diego Moreira is headed to AC Milan

Corriere dello Sport: Chelsea Clause Driving Up Diego Moreira Price as Roma Push for Deal

Diego Moreira remains one of Roma’s top transfer targets, but completing a deal will not be easy.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Strasbourg’s €40 million asking price is largely due to the resale clause owed to Chelsea, which significantly increases the cost of any potential transfer. Without that clause, the Belgian winger’s valuation would reportedly be closer to €25 million.

Despite the high price, Roma remain determined. The Giallorossi have already informed Strasbourg that they are prepared to offer around €35 million and will try to negotiate a lower fee in the coming days.

Moreira’s father, former footballer Almami Moreira, recently confirmed there is interest in his son, telling Nieuwsblad: “There is interest, we’ll see everything after the World Cup.” With Belgium now eliminated from the tournament, talks are expected to accelerate.

Roma are also encouraged by the player’s stance, with Moreira reportedly having already given the green light to a move to the Italian capital. The coming days could prove decisive as the Giallorossi look to bridge the gap with Strasbourg.

Update from La Repubblica:

According to La Repubblica’s Marco Juric, Diego Moreira has emerged as Roma’s hottest transfer target.

The 2004-born Strasbourg winger is the profile generating the most consensus at Trigoria, with Gian Piero Gasperini valuing his pace, ability to beat defenders one-on-one, and tactical versatility—qualities the Roma coach considers essential for his system.
