Nicolo Tresoldi

Gazzetta dello Sport: Roma Identify Nicolò Tresoldi as Malen’s Backup

Roma have identified Nicolò Tresoldi as the preferred option to serve as backup to Donyell Malen next season.

According to Gazzetta.it, the Club Brugge striker has already given his approval to a possible move to the Giallorossi.

Tresoldi has also reportedly discussed Roma with Niccolò Pisilli. The two first met when they faced each other at Under-19 level in 2022 and have stayed in contact since.

Roma are now expected to speed up talks from next week as they look to strengthen Gian Piero Gasperini’s attacking options.

Update from Il Messaggero:

According to Il Messaggero, Nicolò Tresoldi remains Roma’s preferred choice to back up Donyell Malen.

The Giallorossi have already secured the striker’s approval, but convincing Club Brugge will not be easy, with the Belgian club demanding around €30 million.

To beat competition from Atlético Madrid, Roma are considering moving for Tresoldi even before selling Artem Dovbyk, who continues to attract interest from Real Betis, Villarreal, and Ajax.
