Lorenzo Pellegrini will not be part of Roma’s first day of pre-season training as preparations for the 2026/27 campaign get underway.
According to Radio Manà Manà Sport, the Roma captain is expected to miss the initial gathering at Trigoria due to a combination of factors.
Pellegrini is still recovering from the injury he suffered at the end of last season, while his contract renewal has yet to be formally completed.
Despite the delayed return, there is no concern surrounding his long-term future. Negotiations over a new deal are reportedly in their final stages, with only the remaining formalities to be completed before an official announcement.
The same applies to Zeki Celik, whose contract extension is also close to being finalized as Roma continue to secure the futures of key members of Gian Piero Gasperini’s squad.
