Manu Kone

Globo: Liverpool Join Race for Roma Midfielder Manu Koné

Liverpool have emerged as one of the leading contenders for Manu Koné, while Manchester United’s pursuit of the Roma midfielder has cooled following their move for Youri Tielemans.

According to Brazilian outlet Globo, the Reds are looking to strengthen their midfield this summer and have identified both João Gomes of Wolves and Koné as key targets. Liverpool have already opened talks with Wolves after Atlético Madrid’s pursuit of Gomes collapsed.

With Manchester United now prioritizing Tielemans, Liverpool have a clearer path to pursue Koné, who continues to impress after a strong season with Roma and an excellent FIFA World Cup campaign with France.

Roma remain open to evaluating offers but have no intention of selling cheaply. The Giallorossi value the 24-year-old at around £47 million (approximately €55 million), a fee only a handful of Europe’s elite clubs are currently capable of meeting.

As the transfer window gathers pace, Liverpool’s interest could place them at the front of the queue for one of Roma’s most valuable assets.
