Roma officially begin preparations for the 2026/27 campaign today, marking the start of Gian Piero Gasperini’s second season at the helm of the Giallorossi.
The squad were scheduled to report to Trigoria by midday before undergoing routine medical examinations at Campus Bio-Medico. Following a team lunch, the players will take part in their first training session of the summer later this afternoon and will stay overnight at the training centre ahead of another training session on Monday morning.
Among those present are Mile Svilar, Pierluigi Gollini, Gianluca Mancini, Daniele Ghilardi, Mario Hermoso, Jan Ziolkowski, Angeliño, Devyne Rensch, Bryan Cristante, Niccolò Pisilli, Matias Soulé, Miguel Vaz, and Artem Dovbyk, along with several standout players from Roma’s Primavera side.
Paulo Dybala is also expected to undergo medical examinations after signing his year year contract extension with the club earlier today.
Wesley will continue his recovery program after recently returning from injury, while updates are expected soon regarding the arrivals of Lorenzo Pellegrini, and Zeki Celik, whose situations will become clearer as pre-season gets underway.
Update from Checco Casano:
Following his contract renewal, Zeki Celik will return to Trigoria on July 18. Evan Ndicka and Donyell Malen are scheduled to rejoin the squad on July 22, while Neil El Aynaoui will report on July 30. A return date for Manu Koné has yet to be determined.
Meanwhile, Gian Piero Gasperini has scheduled double training sessions at 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. as Roma step up preparations for the new season.
