Xabi Alonso Confirms Alejandro Garnacho Exit as Roma Continue to Monitor Situation

Alejandro Garnacho’s departure from Chelsea appears increasingly inevitable, with new manager Xabi Alonso confirming the Argentine is not part of his plans for the upcoming season.

Speaking at his introductory press conference, Alonso acknowledged the growing speculation surrounding the winger’s future.

“Several clubs are interested in him. I hope this story ends well for everyone.”

The comments effectively confirm that Garnacho is available this summer, with Roma remaining one of the clubs closely monitoring the situation.

The Giallorossi see the 2004-born winger as an ideal addition to Gian Piero Gasperini’s attack, but Chelsea’s demands continue to complicate negotiations. The Blues are seeking around €50 million for a permanent transfer, a figure currently beyond Roma’s budget.

Instead, Roma are pushing for a loan deal with a conditional obligation to buy, hoping Chelsea will become more flexible as the transfer window progresses.

The relationship between the two clubs could also play a role in negotiations. Roma are simultaneously pursuing Diego Moreira from Strasbourg, another club within the BlueCo ownership group, raising the possibility of broader discussions involving multiple players as the Giallorossi look to strengthen both flanks this summer.
