Atalanta are stepping up their pursuit of Kerim Alajbegovic, one of the young attacking talents who has also been linked with Roma in recent weeks.
According to Alfredo Pedullà, the Bergamo club are ready to open formal negotiations with Bayer Leverkusen after accelerating their interest over the past few days.
Atalanta are preparing an offer worth €18-20 million plus bonuses, with several of the add-ons considered relatively easy to achieve. However, Bayer Leverkusen are currently holding out for a higher fee.
Despite the gap in valuation, Atalanta remain confident that an agreement can be reached and will continue working to bring the highly rated youngster to Italy.
Roma have previously monitored Alajbegovic’s situation, but Atalanta now appear to be leading the race as they push to secure one of Europe’s most promising attacking prospects.
