Di Marzio & Pedullà: Roma Continue Summerville Push as Garnacho Talks Put on Hold

Roma’s search for a new attacking winger remains one of the club’s top priorities, with Crysencio Summerville now emerging as the leading target.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Roma remain in active contact over the West Ham winger after holding a meeting with the player’s representatives in recent days. The next step will be determining whether the Giallorossi can open formal negotiations with the Premier League club and agree on financial terms that fit the club’s budget.

Summerville is coming off an impressive FIFA World Cup campaign with the Netherlands, registering two goals and two assists in four appearances, further increasing his value on the market.

Meanwhile, Alfredo Pedullà reports that Roma’s transfer strategy currently revolves around three main negotiations: Diego Moreira, Crysencio Summerville, and Nicolò Tresoldi.

The report adds that Alejandro Garnacho has temporarily been placed on standby while Roma assess the feasibility of a deal for Summerville. The Dutch winger was reintroduced to the Giallorossi after negotiations with several English clubs, including Manchester United, stalled in recent days.

A meeting took place on Tuesday morning away from Trigoria, where Roma reiterated their interest. However, the club made its position clear: any deal must remain financially sustainable, with a transfer fee not exceeding €40 million and wages in the region of €4-4.5 million per season.

Pedullà also reveals that intermediaries offered Christos Tzolis to Roma during the discussions, but the proposal was quickly rejected, with the Giallorossi maintaining that the Club Brugge winger is not a target.

For now, Roma’s attention remains firmly focused on Summerville, Moreira, and Tresoldi as sporting director Tony D’Amico works to deliver the attacking reinforcements requested by Gian Piero Gasperini.
