Diego Moreira appears closer than ever to becoming Roma’s first major signing of the summer.
According to L’Équipe, the 2004-born Belgian has already agreed to a four-year contract with the Giallorossi. Moreira currently earns around €800,000 per season at Strasbourg, but his salary in Rome is expected to rise to roughly three times that amount.
The transfer fee is believed to be around €35 million, with Roma now working to complete the final details of the agreement with Strasbourg.
Moreira is viewed as an ideal fit for Gian Piero Gasperini’s system thanks to his pace, versatility and ability to play across the left flank. He could operate as a left wing-back, allowing Wesley to return to the right side.
If the deal is finalized, Moreira would give Gasperini a flexible wide option capable of contributing both defensively and in attack as Roma prepare for their return to the Champions League.
