Roma Stadium Project Reaches Major Milestone as First Services Conference Is Scheduled

Roma’s long-awaited new stadium project at Pietralata has reached another significant milestone, with the first Conference of Services officially scheduled.

According to RomaToday, Extraordinary Commissioner Massimo Sessa, who is overseeing infrastructure projects linked to UEFA Euro 2032, has set Monday, July 27, as the date for the first formal meeting.

The objective of the process is to obtain a Single Authorisation Measure, which would pave the way for the final approval of the stadium project, including the necessary urban planning changes.

Before that can happen, authorities will review the completeness of the documentation submitted by Roma and determine whether any additional information is required. Several key issues will also need to be addressed, including the project’s impact on public health, the nearby Pertini Hospital, and environmental concerns related to protected wooded areas.

The process will involve numerous public bodies, including the City of Rome, the Lazio Region, the Ministry of the Interior, the Special Superintendency, RomaNatura, ARPA, ISPRA, the Central Apennines District Basin Authority, CONI, and several other institutions.

The scheduling of the first Conference of Services marks another important step forward as Roma continue working toward delivering a new stadium in Pietralata.
