Chelsea have renewed their interest in Manu Koné, according to Corriere della Sera, as the Premier League club continues to monitor the Roma midfielder ahead of a possible summer move.
The report states that Xabi Alonso wants to strengthen his midfield, particularly if Enzo Fernández leaves Stamford Bridge. Koné is among the players being considered.
Roma remain open to a sale but have raised their valuation of the French international. The Giallorossi are now seeking more than €50 million after his impressive performances, with sporting director Tony D’Amico unwilling to lower the asking price.
Chelsea’s renewed interest could also prove significant in Roma’s pursuit of Diego Moreira and Alejandro Garnacho, as negotiations between the two clubs continue on multiple fronts. Roma, however, are not expected to make a final decision on Koné until after the FIFA World Cup concludes.
