Manchester United remain interested in Crysencio Summerville, but only under specific circumstances.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the West Ham winger is on United’s shortlist only if Marcus Rashford leaves the club this summer. As things stand, however, there are no active negotiations.
Romano reports that Manchester United have not opened talks with either West Ham or Summerville’s representatives. The only contact came in June, when the Premier League club made an initial approach before shifting its focus elsewhere.
The update could benefit Roma, who continue to view Summerville as one of Gian Piero Gasperini’s top attacking targets. The Giallorossi have already held positive discussions with the Dutch winger’s camp, although West Ham’s asking price remains the biggest obstacle to completing a deal.
For now, Manchester United’s pursuit appears to be on hold, leaving Roma with an opportunity to continue working on one of their priority signings.
From Alfredo Pedulla:
Roma remain fully focused on signing Crysencio Summerville, who is currently ahead of Alejandro Garnacho on the club’s shortlist.
While Garnacho continues to be monitored the Giallorossi are prioritizing the Dutch winger and are prepared to make a significant investment to secure his transfer.
Roma know they must move quickly to beat the competition with new direct contacts expected as the club works to reach an agreement on the player’s salary.
Pedulla claims Summerville has a €45 million release clause agreed with West Ham, which will expire in around ten days.
From Gianluca Di Marzio:
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Roma have reached an economic agreement with Crysencio Summerville’s representatives.
The Giallorossi are now preparing an offer worth €45 million to present to West Ham in an attempt to complete the deal.
The final decision, however, rests with the Dutch winger, who is also attracting interest from Aston Villa.
Summerville could make a final decision as early as tomorrow, July 16.
The Dutch winger is set to return from Miami where he will hold final discussions with his representatives before deciding on his future.
Roma believe they have positioned themselves well throughout the negotiations and remain confident they can complete the deal.
