Roma have been handed an encouraging update in their pursuit of Nicolò Tresoldi, with one of their biggest rivals currently unable to complete a move for the Club Brugge striker.
According to Florian Plettenberg, Borussia Dortmund remain interested in the 2004-born forward but are effectively blocked from making a move unless they first sell Serhou Guirassy. At the moment, that scenario appears unlikely, leaving the Bundesliga club unable to advance negotiations.
Roma have been working on the deal for some time and continue to view Tresoldi as the ideal deputy to Donyell Malen. The Giallorossi have already reached an agreement with the player and are now focused on negotiating a fee with Club Brugge.
With Dortmund’s pursuit on hold, Roma could have a clearer path to securing one of Gian Piero Gasperini’s priority attacking targets before the start of the new season.
