Roma are expected to secure another key piece of their squad, with Gianluca Mancini reportedly on the verge of signing a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2029.
The Giallorossi began preparations for the 2026-27 season on July 13, and after the unexpected collapse of Zeki Çelik’s renewal due to his move to Juventus, attention has shifted to the futures of several senior players. While negotiations continue over Lorenzo Pellegrini’s extension, Mancini now appears to be the next player ready to commit his future to the club.
The 29-year-old has established himself as one of Roma’s defensive leaders and is expected to remain a cornerstone of Gian Piero Gasperini’s back line alongside Evan Ndicka and Mario Hermoso. The upcoming campaign will also see Mancini prepare for his first UEFA Champions League season with the Giallorossi.
Although the official announcement has yet to arrive, reports indicate that only the club’s confirmation is missing before the extension becomes official.
Adding to the optimism, Mancini recently shared a photo on Instagram celebrating in front of the Curva Sud, accompanied by a wolf emoji and Roma’s yellow and red hearts, a post many supporters have interpreted as another hint that an announcement is imminent.
