Juventus are reportedly continuing their efforts to sign Lorenzo Pellegrini just days after completing the surprise signing of Zeki Çelik from Roma.
According to Tuttosport the Bianconeri remain in contact with the midfielder, whose contract expired on July 1. While Roma held further discussions with Pellegrini over a new deal on Thursday the two sides have yet to reach an agreement.
Former Roma sporting director Frederic Massara, now at Juventus, is said to be playing a key role in the negotiations. The report claims Massara has an excellent relationship with Pellegrini and is working to convince him to make the move to Turin.
Juventus head coach Luciano Spalletti is also believed to be a strong admirer of the 29-year-old, with the club reportedly having already submitted a contract offer. Pellegrini is expected to make a decision in the coming days.
After losing Çelik to Juventus, Roma now face the possibility of another high-profile departure unless a contract renewal can be finalized.
