Manchester United have reportedly made Manu Koné their top midfield target after being impressed by the French international’s performances at the FIFA World Cup.
According to TeamTalk the Red Devils had initially been considering other options ahead of the Roma midfielder. However, their stance has now changed with Koné moving to the top of the club’s shortlist following his displays for France in the United States.
The 24-year-old has caught the attention of Manchester United’s recruitment team, who have closely monitored his performances throughout the tournament.
Roma, however, are in no rush to sell. The Giallorossi will not entertain offers below €50 million with that figure considered the minimum required to open negotiations for one of Gian Piero Gasperini’s key midfielders.
Interest from the Premier League continues to grow, but Roma remain determined to protect one of their most valuable assets unless a major offer arrives.
Gazetta dello Sport:
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport Manchester United and Chelsea are expected to submit offers for Manu Koné in the coming days.
Both Premier League clubs are aware that Roma need to complete a major capital gain before the end of the transfer window to satisfy UEFA financial requirements making the French midfielder one of the club’s most closely watched assets.
