Eleonora Trotta: Inside the Four-Day Deal That Took Zeki Çelik to Juventus

More details have emerged on how Zeki Çelik’s surprise move from Roma to Juventus came together.

According to Eleonora Trotta, the transfer was orchestrated over the course of last weekend through a series of phone calls and meetings in Milan before being completed within four days. Çelik underwent his medical at the J Medical Centre before signing his contract with Juventus.

The report adds that the decisive factor was Juventus’ approach.

Calls from Luciano Spalletti and the strong interest shown by sporting director Ricky Massara, who has an excellent relationship with the Turkish defender, convinced Çelik to make the switch.

Trotta also reveals that Çelik had previously rejected an offer from Fiorentina despite it being the most lucrative proposal financially for both the player and his representatives.

Roma had been preparing to renew the defender’s contract, but Juventus ultimately stepped in and secured his signature in one of the summer’s most unexpected transfer twists.
