Roma’s pursuit of Diego Moreira has suffered a significant setback.
According to Il Messaggero, the Giallorossi have already reached an agreement with the Belgian winger on a contract worth €2.5 million per season.
However, negotiations with Strasbourg have stalled.
The report claims the Chelsea ownership group, which also controls Strasbourg, has raised Moreira’s valuation following the Palestra deal and is now demanding at least €60 million for the 21-year-old.
That asking price is considered far beyond Roma’s budget and has brought negotiations to a standstill.
Moreira has been one of Roma’s top attacking targets this summer, but unless Strasbourg lower their demands the Giallorossi are expected to focus on more realistic options as they continue to strengthen Gian Piero Gasperini’s squad.
