Manchester United are preparing to step up their pursuit of Manu Koné with a major offer for the Roma midfielder.
According to La Repubblica‘s Marco Juric, the Premier League club are ready to put around €55 million on the table in an attempt to convince Roma to sell the French international this summer.
Koné has attracted strong interest from several clubs following an impressive campaign, but Manchester United are now emerging as one of the leading contenders for his signature.
Roma value the 24-year-old highly and have repeatedly stated they do not intend to sell unless an exceptional offer arrives. A bid in the region of €55 million would test the Giallorossi’s resolve as sporting director Tony D’Amico weighs the financial and sporting implications.
