Roma could turn their attention to strengthening the defense once their attacking targets are secured.
According to Portuguese outlet Record, the Giallorossi are monitoring Tiago Gabriel as a potential backup for Mario Hermoso. The 2004-born centre-back, who currently plays for Lecce, has attracted interest from several clubs, including Como, Benfica, and Paris FC.
However, the report states that Roma have not yet submitted an official offer for the Portuguese defender. At present, Benfica are considered the club leading the race for his signature.
Lecce are reluctant to part with one of their brightest young talents and are reportedly demanding €20 million for the former Estrela Amadora defender. That valuation has so far discouraged all of the interested clubs, including Roma, making any potential move difficult at this stage.
