Matias Soulé could remain at Roma after all as the club’s plans for the attack continue to evolve.
According to Il Tempo, Soulé had been expected to leave Trigoria this summer with Roma aiming to replace him with a higher-profile attacking winger.
However, no concrete offers arrived for the Argentina including during the crucial June transfer window.
That has opened the door to a possible change of plans.
Soulé has impressed during preseason and is making a strong case to remain under Gian Piero Gasperini.
Roma are still expected to sign at least one winger with Crysencio Summerville remaining the leading target. If Soulé stays, however, the club may no longer pursue a second permanent signing for the position.
Instead, Roma could look to add another winger on loan. Alejandro Garnacho remains one of the names being monitored with the Giallorossi continuing to explore a loan deal with an option to buy as the Chelsea winger looks set to leave the Premier League.
