Roma have never withdrawn from the race to sign Crysencio Summerville, despite Al Hilal’s late move for the West Ham winger.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Giallorossi remained in contact with Summerville throughout Tuesday evening as they attempted to bring the deal back in their favour. Roma continue to hope the Dutch international will choose their sporting project over the lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia.
Gian Piero Gasperini has also become directly involved in negotiations. The Roma manager reportedly held a phone call with Summerville to personally present his plans for the winger and persuade him to move to the Italian capital.
The transfer now rests entirely on Summerville’s final decision, with both Roma and Al Hilal awaiting the player’s definitive answer before the deal can move forward.
