Roma welcomed Donyell Malen and Evan Ndicka back to Trigoria on Wednesday following their World Cup campaigns.
Malen struggled to make an impact against the Netherlands, while Ndicka did not feature against Ivory Coast after suffering a muscle injury in the derby against Lazio.
Neil El Aynaoui will be the next player to return to the Fulvio Bernardini training centre. According to Corriere dello Sport, the Moroccan midfielder is expected back on July 30 and should be available to join Roma’s preseason camp in Wales.
The 24-year-old impressed during Morocco’s World Cup campaign and is expected to play an important role under Gian Piero Gasperini this season.
Manu Koné may not return until August 10, when Roma are back in Italy. His arrival remains uncertain as the French midfielder continues to attract interest from clubs abroad and could leave the capital this summer.
Gasperini is still waiting for his first new signing during an unusual transfer window. Roma are returning to the Champions League but have so far struggled to make a significant impact on the market.
