Manchester United are strongly considering Roma midfielder Manu Koné as they assess options for a third midfield signing this summer.
According to Danyal Khan and Adrian Kajumba, United have recently revisited a possible move for Brighton’s Carlos Baleba, although no formal club-to-club contact has yet taken place.
The Premier League side have also made tentative enquiries over Koné. The Roma midfielder is expected to cost less than Baleba, but reports of an imminent transfer are considered premature.
Both players remain part of a wider shortlist, with United in no rush to make a decision as they continue working on other areas of the squad.
Update for Corriere dello Sport:
Manu Koné’s future appears increasingly likely to lie away from Roma.
According to Corriere dello Sport, England remains the most concrete destination, although Al-Ahli have also made an initial enquiry.
Manchester United are currently leading the race, with regular contact taking place with the midfielder’s representatives and a broad agreement already in place.
Chelsea also remain interested.
