Matias Soulé increasingly likely to stay at Roma despite transfer interest

Matias Soulé’s future remains one of Roma’s biggest transfer questions, but a summer stay is becoming an increasingly realistic possibility.

According to Il Messaggero several clubs have shown interest in the Argentine winger, including Borussia Dortmund, Stuttgart, Aston Villa, Sunderland, Fulham and Al Ahli.

However, Roma have yet to receive an offer that meets their valuation.

Despite growing interest from across Europe and a recent enquiry from Fiorentina, Soulé remains fully focused on Roma and has no desire to leave the capital.

With Roma still waiting to complete their first signing of the summer, keeping the 22-year-old is no longer viewed as an unlikely outcome. Gian Piero Gasperini would ideally like to add two more attacking players and prefers a winger with stronger one-on-one qualities, but he still highly values Soulé’s technical ability.

Selling the former Frosinone winger would leave Roma even shorter in attack at a time when the club is already looking to strengthen the department. Unless a significant offer arrives, Soulé is increasingly expected to remain part of Gasperini’s plans for the new season.
