Roma risk missing out on Rafik Belghali as Marseille submit offer

Roma remain focused on signing a new attacking winger, but their other transfer targets could begin to slip away.

Antonio Nusa is becoming increasingly difficult to sign, while the alternatives currently under consideration have not fully convinced the club.

Roma must also find a replacement for the departing Zeki Çelik, with Rafik Belghali one of the right-sided players appreciated at Trigoria.

The Algerian impressed with Hellas Verona last season, delivering a series of strong performances and scoring two goals. He also strengthened his reputation at the World Cup, where he became a regular starter for Algeria and scored in the 3-3 draw against Austria.

According to TuttomercatoWeb, however, Marseille have now made a serious move for the 24-year-old. The French club have offered Verona €13 million, but the proposal has been rejected, with the Serie A side holding out for €15 million.

Inter have also tracked Belghali after losing Denzel Dumfries, but Roma do not currently view a reserve right wing-back as a top priority.

Should the Giallorossi decide to accelerate, they would need to improve on Marseille’s offer and move quickly before the competition intensifies.
