Roma have stepped up their pursuit of Santiago Castro, with negotiations now underway with Bologna for the Argentine striker.
According to Fabrizio Romano, talks between the two clubs have officially begun after Castro gave his approval to the move. The 21 year-old is Roma’s top attacking target with Gian Piero Gasperini fully backing the operation.
Alfredo Pedullà reports that Bologna’s initial asking price is €40 million, although the deal could ultimately be completed for around €35 million. Roma have already reached an agreement on personal terms with Castro and are continuing to work on finding common ground with Bologna.
Roma have already put in an offer of €30m + 5 in bonuses, and have come to a contractual agreement with the striker on a 5 year deal worth €2m plus bonuses.
With the player eager to join the Giallorossi, Roma are now focused on finalizing the agreement between the clubs in the coming days.

Bologna have accepted a package worth around €35 million from Roma for Santiago Castro, although the final bonus structure still needs to be settled.
The Rossoblù are already evaluating possible replacements for the Argentine striker.
Caution remains necessary until every detail is completed, but negotiations are now at an advanced stage after progressing rapidly over the past few days.

According to Eleonora Trotta, Robinio Vaz has also been discussed during negotiations between Roma and Bologna for Santiago Castro.
Bologna sporting director Giovanni Sartori is a long-time admirer of the young Roma forward, although it remains unclear whether Vaz could become part of the Castro deal.

According to Mana Sport, Roma are accelerating their pursuit of Santiago Castro with negotiations with Bologna now at an advanced stage.
The coming hours could prove decisive as the Giallorossi look to deliver Gian Piero Gasperini his first reinforcement. In a separate operation, Artem Dovbyk could also emerge as an option for Bologna, although any move would still require the Ukrainian striker’s approval.

According to Filippo Biafora, Roma have attempted to include Artem Dovbyk in the deal with Bologna for Santiago Castro.
However, negotiations for the Argentine striker will continue regardless of whether the Ukrainian is ultimately included in the operation.

According to Nico Schira, Roma could include either Robinio Vaz or Artem Dovbyk on loan in the proposed package for Bologna striker Santiago Castro with talks between the clubs progressing well.
Castro has already reached an agreement in principle with the Giallorossi on a contract until 2031 worth €2.2 million per season.
Roma are now working to finalize the deal with Bologna.
