Gabriel Martinelli returns to Roma’s radar after Summerville setback

Gabriel Martinelli has again been linked with Roma as the club continues its search for a high-level left winger.

According to Tele Radio Stereo, international intermediaries first offered the Arsenal forward to Roma on July 10.

The Giallorossi gathered information but were fully focused on Crysencio Summerville at the time. That deal later collapsed after Al Hilal entered the race.

Martinelli holds an Italian passport and has one year remaining on his Arsenal contract. He is no longer considered central to Mikel Arteta’s plans and could leave after seven seasons in the Premier League.

Roma could now reconsider the opportunity as Gian Piero Gasperini waits for another attacking reinforcement. Tottenham are also reportedly interested.

Martinelli earns around €11 million gross per season. Tele Radio Stereo reports that figure would fall within Roma’s financial limits.

The situation remains one to watch, but Martinelli is back on Roma’s radar after never being completely ruled out.
