Roma push to complete Santiago Castro deal as Bologna await Dovbyk response

Roma remain in talks with Bologna over Santiago Castro and hope to finalize the transfer by tomorrow.

According to Alfredo Pedullà, discussions continued into the evening as Roma work to deliver the Argentine striker to Gian Piero Gasperini as soon as possible. The financial terms remain in line with the figures previously reported.

Bologna are also waiting for Artem Dovbyk’s response in the coming hours.

However, Pedullà stressed that the Ukrainian striker’s possible move to Bologna is being handled as a separate operation.

Roma and Bologna were already discussing Santiago Castro independently.

Artem Dovbyk’s inclusion could be an additional solution welcomed by both clubs, but it also confirms that the Ukrainian striker was not close to joining Genoa at least two weeks ago

Update from Di Marzio:

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, talks between Roma and Bologna are continuing over Santiago Castro and Artem Dovbyk.

The Ukrainian striker is now confirmed as part of the operation and would join Bologna on loan.

The clubs are working toward a full agreement and will resume discussions overnight or tomorrow morning.

Update from Angelo Mangiante:

Roma and Bologna will resume talks tomorrow with the aim of completing the deal.

The operation is valued at €35 million, with final details still being discussed over bonuses, a sell-on clause and Artem Dovbyk’s loan.

Both clubs want to reach an agreement, while Santiago Castro has already accepted the move and is pushing for it to be finalized.

Update from Fabrizio Romano:

According to Fabrizio Romano, Roma and Bologna remain in direct contact to finalize the deal that will bring Santiago Castro to the Giallorossi.

Negotiations were not completed today as Roma were occupied with their preseason friendly against Cannes.

An agreement is already in place with the player, while the clubs have reached a general understanding on a package worth €35 million including bonuses.

The remaining discussions concern the final bonus structure, with the transfer now in its closing stages.
