Roma intend to make two more attacking signings after completing the arrival of Santiago Castro.
Gian Piero Gasperini has made his expectations clear, with the coach pointing out that Paulo Dybala and Matías Soulé are currently his only options in the wide attacking roles.
“Right now, as wingers, we have Soulé and Dybala. And that’s it. So I expect two players in that role,” Gasperini said during his press conference.
Antonio Nusa remains one of Roma’s main targets, but negotiations with RB Leipzig continue to be difficult. The German club are in a strong financial position after selling Yan Diomande to Real Madrid for more than €100 million and have little reason to lower their demands.
Sporting director Tony D’Amico is therefore exploring alternative profiles, although several of those names remain confidential.
According to Il Tempo, Roma recently made enquiries for Real Betis winger Abde Ezzalzouli and Brentford attacker Kevin Schade. Both options were considered too expensive and are no longer viewed as realistic targets.
Ezzalzouli finished last season with 15 goals and 13 assists, while Schade recorded eight goals and four assists. Their valuations have placed both players beyond Roma’s current reach.
The Giallorossi have also decided against pursuing Noa Lang, who was proposed by intermediaries. Roma are now evaluating other options as D’Amico works to deliver the two attacking reinforcements requested by Gasperini.
