Anass Salah-Eddine could leave Roma permanently this summer, with Olympiacos emerging as a possible destination for the left-back.
According to Filippo Biafora, the Greek club have identified Salah-Eddine as a target while they negotiate the potential sale of Francisco Ortega to River Plate. Ortega’s departure would create space for Olympiacos to bring in another option on the left flank.
Salah-Eddine is not considered part of Gian Piero Gasperini’s plans following his return from a loan spell at PSV. The Dutch club did not make the move permanent, while Biafora reports that the player had also rejected the possibility of remaining with PSV.
The 24-year-old made 1,630 minutes of appearances during his latest spell in the Netherlands. He registered one assist while receiving three yellow cards and one red card.
Corriere della Sera adds that Roma are already discussing a potential transfer with Olympiacos. The Giallorossi are not interested in another loan and would only consider a permanent sale.
The defender’s valuation has not yet been established.
However, a transfer would allow Roma to recover funds from a player who no longer has a role in the technical project while also helping the club meet its financial commitments under the UEFA settlement agreement.
