Feyenoord Consider Roma’s €25m Offer for Givairo Read

Feyenoord are evaluating Roma’s €25 million offer for Givairo Read despite initially valuing the right-back above that figure.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Dutch club have not rejected the Giallorossi proposal and are discussing it internally. The operation remains active, with negotiations continuing over the structure of the fee and potential bonuses.

Roma’s package is worth €25 million in total and represents a stronger proposal than those previously submitted by Nottingham Forest.

Feyenoord have already rejected two bids from the Premier League club. The offers were reportedly worth €19 million and €21 million, with additional bonuses included in the discussions.

Nottingham Forest remain in the race and could return with another proposal, meaning Roma have not yet secured a clear path to completing the signing.

Read is the Giallorossi’s preferred target for the right flank. The 20-year-old Netherlands youth international is considered one of the most promising full-backs in the Eredivisie and is under contract with Feyenoord until 2029.

If Roma cannot complete the deal for Read, Sporting CP defender Iván Fresneda is currently the first alternative on the club’s shortlist.

Feyenoord’s decision to consider rather than immediately reject Roma’s offer is a positive sign, but a final agreement has not yet been reached. The Dutch club must now decide whether to accept the €25 million package or continue holding out for a higher fee.
