Roma Delay Emanuele Lulli Exit as Avellino Turn to Simone Cinquegrano

AS Roma have asked Avellino for more time before allowing Emanuele Lulli to leave the club, according to Italian transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà.

Avellino had identified the 2005-born Roma right-back as a leading target for the position. However, the Giallorossi are not yet ready to release the academy defender, creating uncertainty around the proposed move.

The Serie B club have consequently shifted their attention to Simone Cinquegrano, a 22-year-old right-back owned by Sassuolo. Negotiations for the Italian defender are now reportedly close to completion.

Cinquegrano can operate as either a traditional full-back or a wing-back, offering Avellino a versatile alternative on the right flank.

The change of direction does not necessarily rule out a future move for Lulli, but Avellino are unwilling to wait indefinitely for Roma’s approval. With the Cinquegrano deal now approaching its final stages, the club appear ready to secure a different option.
