AS Roma are also working on outgoing transfers, with Luigi Cherubini expected to leave the club on loan this summer.
According to Manà Sport Roma, reports linking the 22-year-old winger with a move to Benevento are incorrect. Las Palmas, however, remain a concrete destination for the Roma academy graduate.
Discussions are continuing over the structure of the operation, with further developments expected in the coming hours. The two clubs must still finalise the loan formula before the deal can be completed.
Cherubini returned to Roma this summer after spending the 2025-26 season on loan at Sampdoria. He had previously gained senior experience with Carrarese and now appears set for another temporary move to continue his development.
The versatile attacker can operate on either wing or behind a striker. A move to Spain would offer him a different footballing experience and the opportunity to compete for regular playing time.
Cherubini is currently part of the group travelling with Roma’s first team for the pre-season training camp in Wales. His inclusion does not change the club’s transfer plans, with another loan still considered the most likely outcome.
Las Palmas are currently the leading option, but the operation is not yet complete. Talks over the final terms will determine whether Cherubini’s move can be closed shortly.
