Abde Ezzalzouli will remain at Real Betis after a potential move to Roma was ruled out, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Giallorossi had identified the Moroccan international as one of the possible options to strengthen the left side of their attack. However, there is now considered to be no room for an agreement with Betis.
Abde’s agent has also confirmed that the winger will not be transferred this summer, effectively closing the door on Roma’s pursuit.
Negotiations had always appeared difficult because of the Spanish club’s financial demands and the player’s position. Betis were reluctant to lower their valuation, while previous reports suggested that Abde was not convinced Roma represented the preferred next step in his career.
No formal agreement was reached with either the club or the player, and Roma will now have to concentrate on alternative targets for the left wing.
The Giallorossi are expected to direct a significant portion of their remaining transfer budget towards that position. Gian Piero Gasperini’s squad still requires a right-footed attacker capable of operating from the left, with the club reportedly prepared to make a major investment for the right profile.
Roma’s attention will now shift elsewhere as the club attempt to secure a new wide attacker before the transfer window closes.
