Read for Feyenoord

Nottingham Forest Prepare Improved Offer as Roma Push for Givairo Read

Roma are pushing strongly to sign Givairo Read from Feyenoord, but Nottingham Forest remain firmly in the race for the Dutch right-back.

According to Filippo Biafora, the Premier League club are preparing an improved financial proposal with particular emphasis on the salary offered to the player.

Roma have made Read their preferred target for the right flank and recently submitted a package worth approximately €25 million to Feyenoord. The Dutch club have not rejected the proposal but value the 20-year-old more highly, leaving negotiations over the transfer fee and bonuses ongoing.

Nottingham Forest have already made several attempts to reach an agreement with Feyenoord. Their previous offers fell short of the Eredivisie club’s demands, but Forest are not withdrawing and could now try to gain an advantage by presenting Read with more attractive personal terms.

The Giallorossi have reportedly already secured the player’s approval for a five-year contract, although Forest’s potential salary increase adds another complication to the negotiations.

Roma must therefore work on two fronts: closing the remaining financial gap with Feyenoord and ensuring their agreement with Read is strong enough to withstand the English club’s latest push.

The defender has publicly indicated that he would consider leaving Feyenoord if the right opportunity emerged, without expressing a preference between the interested clubs.

Nottingham Forest Withdraw From Givairo Read Race as Roma Face Feyenoord Resistance

Nottingham Forest ended their pursuit of Givairo Read several days ago, partly because of Roma’s strong intervention in the race, according to Florian Plettenberg.

However, the Giallorossi still face a difficult negotiation with Feyenoord, who are determined to maximise their return from the right-back’s sale and have yet to accept Roma’s proposed terms.
